Oaxacan Museum of Contemporary Art (MACO) – Oaxaca City
The Oaxacan Museum of Contemporary Art is designed to be as much about exhibiting art as it is about education. The Oaxacan Museum of Contemporary Art has existed since 1992 and was the brainchild of Oaxacan painter Fransico Toledo. There are 13 exhibition rooms of which 3 are dedicated to permanent exhibition from Oaxacan artists. The other exhibition halls are for temporary exhibits and there is also a children’s area complete with workshop and a space for painting of the month. Should your child want to participate in one of these workshops, don’t worry the Oaxacan Museum of Contemporary Art also has a restaurant.
