Tecomaxtlahuaca Lagoon
The enchanted lagoon of Tecomaxtlahuaca is a beautiful small lagoon of about 50 meters across which is fed by a pair of sulphurous springs and according to local legend has healing powers. As clear and inviting as the water might be, swimming is not advisable due to the muddy bottom and the associated risk of drowning. Tecomaxtlahuaca lagoon is surrounded by trees and picturesque grassland making it ideal for picnicking, camping and if you have the luxury just whiling away the day.
The enchanted lagoon of Tecomaxtlahuaca is located near the settlement of San Sebastián Tecomaxtlahuaca, four and half hours’ drive north of Oaxaca City.
