
Pochutla – Oaxacan Coast
Pochutla is an important coastal town that is strategically located directly between Huatulco and Puerto Escondido and just outside the coastal town of Puerto Ángel, the main road to Puerto Escondio from Oaxaca also passes through it. Pochutla therefore acts as an important town in terms of transport and commerce. Pochutla is a stop for most of the coasts public transport that run between Puerto Escondido and Huatulco, and has a bus station, colectivo taxis, and suburbans (minibuses). Pochutla also offers larger shops and markets which serve both the tourism orientated coastal towns and the small mountain villages of the Sierra Sur, there are also banking services and all the amenities that a larger settlements offer. Pochutla has a few hotels but in reality most tourists use Pochutla as a transport hub to get to Puerto Escondido, Huatulco or Puerto Ángel.
