Salina Cruz – The Oaxacan Coast
Salina Cruz on Oaxaca’s coast is not a noted tourist town but it does have several beaches there which you can enjoy located about seven kilometres outside of Salina Cruz. The beaches are known as Bahía La Ventosa, Las Escolleras, Playa Escondida, Playa Brasil and Playa Azul; the beaches of Salina Cruz offer opportunities to surf and it is posible to take lessons there. Salina Cruz has some shopping centres and other shops, as well as a lighthouse. Salina Cruz has a big beach party for Easter weekend and many thousands of people come to Salina Cruz to enjoy this celebration. Salina Cruz also has a traditional market selling fruits, vegetables and traditional wares.
